About Greenwood Academy

Greenwood Academy is a leading Australian vocational education and training (VET) provider specialising in Animal Care Services. With campuses in Sydney and Melbourne, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality, skills-based programs that prepare students for the growing animal care industry.

We have two campuses: 

Sydney Campus: Suite 2, Level 1, 175 Liverpool Street, Sydney, NSW 2000 
Melbourne Campus: 25 Saint Mangos Lane, Docklands, VIC 3008

Both campuses offer modern facilities and convenient access to city amenities and public transport. 

Yes. Greenwood Academy is a CRICOS-registered institution (CRICOS Code: 04060M) and a Registered Training Organisation (RTO Code: 45916).  Our courses are accredited under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), ensuring national recognition across Australia. 

Courses and Study Information

We offer the following nationally recognised qualifications:

        • Certificate II in Animal Care (ACM20121)
        • Certificate III in Animal Care Services (ACM30122)
        • Certificate III in Animal Care Services – Pet Grooming (ACM30122)
        • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (ACM40418)
        • Diploma of Business (BSB50120)

Our animal care courses combine theoretical study with extensive hands-on training. All programs include opportunities of real life industry experience within commercial animal care facilities, helping students build real-world skills and industry connections.

Courses are delivered through a hybrid model that blends:

        • Face-to-face classroom instruction
        • Structured practical activities in a real industry setting
        • Optional vocational work placements

This ensures that students graduate with both comprehensive knowledge and practical experience.

        • Certificate II in Animal Care: Approximately 26 weeks (full-time)
        • Certificate III in Animal Care Services: Approximately 52 weeks (full-time)
        • Certificate III in Animal Care Services (Pet Grooming): Approximately 52 weeks (full-time)
        • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing: Approximately 78 weeks (full-time)
        • Diploma of Business: Approximately 52 weeks (full-time)

(Each course includes scheduled breaks.)

Admissions and Enrolment

Applicants must:

        • Be 18 years of age or older
        • Have sound English language, literacy, and numeracy skills
        • Hold a current student visa (for international students)
        • Meet English proficiency requirements (e.g., IELTS 6.0 overall or equivalent)
        • Some animal care courses also require applicants to be physically able to lift and handle animals (up to 10kg independently).

Yes. Greenwood Academy warmly welcomes students from around the world.
We provide extensive support to international students, including orientation programs, visa guidance, English language support, and wellbeing services.

Yes. After completing a Certificate or Diploma at Greenwood Academy, students can choose to further their qualifications. For example:

        • Graduates of Certificate II in Animal Care and Certificate III in Animal Care Services can progress to Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.
        • Graduates of the Diploma of Business may continue towards advanced business qualifications.
